Exciting news for all our cold-water enthusiasts! The Lake is thrilled to be hosting The Bluetits Chill Swimmers’ “Nippy Dippers” event for a second year, an incredible day of cold-water swimming, community, and fun.
Challenge your limits in a supportive and friendly environment. The Nippy Dippers event is all about connecting with fellow swimmers and celebrating personal achievements in the water. This is not a race; it’s a chance to be a part of a fantastic community and experience the exhilaration of a cold-water swim at The Lake.
Upon arrival, swimmers will register at least one hour before their chosen swim distance begins. While you wait for your event, you can soak in the atmosphere and browse the various stalls. When it’s your turn to swim, you’ll be led to the entry point to the cheers of the crowd for a safety briefing before you take the plunge! After your swim, you can warm up, rejoin the spectators, and enjoy the rest of the day’s festivities. The swims are scheduled to take place from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM, starting with the longest distances first.
Whether you’re a seasoned winter swimmer or looking to push your boundaries, there’s a distance for you. The longer distances (1100m and 750m) are designed for experienced cold-water swimmers, while the middle distances offer a challenge for those looking to go a little further than usual. Shorter distances are perfect for those who want to be part of the experience without the long swim.
Event Details:
Every participant will receive a tote bag, an event patch, and a distance badge to commemorate their achievement.
