Paddleboarding is restricted to individuals aged 10 and over. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Paddleboarding FAQs

What is the minimum age for paddleboarding?

The minimum age for all our paddleboarding sessions is 10 years old. Participants under 18 years old must be directly supervised by a participating adult on a 1:1 ratio.

What are your operating hours?

We offer paddleboarding sessions throughout the year! During the summer months, you can book online. For the rest of the year, please email or call us to check availability and make a booking, as sessions may be dependent on weather conditions and staffing.

What if I don't have my own paddleboard?

No problem! We offer "Board Hire and Access" sessions where you can rent all the equipment you need, including a board, paddle, buoyancy aid, and even a wetsuit.

Do you offer lessons for beginners?

Absolutely! Our "Intro to SUP Sessions" are perfect for beginners. These coached sessions provide expert instruction and guidance, ensuring you have a fun and safe first-time experience.

Can we book a session for a group or private event?

Yes, we can arrange group bookings and private events. Please email us at lake@southwestmaritimeacademy.com to discuss your specific requirements.

What are the rules and safety guidelines?

Safety is our priority. All participants must wear a buoyancy aid at all times and adhere to our guidelines, including maintaining a safe distance from the water's edge. Our staff have the right to refuse use of any equipment that doesn't meet British safety standards.

Can I share a board with someone else?

For safety reasons, each person requires a separate booking and their own designated board, even if you bring your own equipment.
