Get your Santa suits (and drysuits) ready, because the most festive dive of the year is back! Scuba Santas returns to The Lake on Saturday, 13th December, for another fantastic day of festive fun and underwater cheer, all in support of two incredible charities.
The day will kick off bright and early, with festive divers arriving for the Santa Check-in – the perfect time to meet your fellow Santas and soak up the festive atmosphere as everyone gets registered. Following check-in, the buzz will build as the “Kitting Up” hour begins. A wonderful and slightly chaotic spectacle as divers wrangle BCDs and regulators with their red suits and floppy hats. Be sure to have your beard adjusted and your mask demisted in time for the iconic group photo, where we’ll capture the magnificent sight of our sea of Santas before they take the plunge.

Then, the moment we’ll all be waiting for: at it’s the “Santa Splash In!”. Divers will take to the water together for the Santa Dive, spending an hour exploring the depths of The Lake in the most festive way possible. After you’ve emerged from the water, the celebrations continue topside.
You can warm up those chilly fingers with free Mince Pies for all. The festive refuel doesn’t stop there, as all participating Santas will be rewarded with free, well-deserved Bacon Sarnies at midday! To wrap up the perfect day, we’ll be holding our Prize Raffle at 1:00 pm, giving you a chance to win some amazing prizes while raising even more money for our chosen causes.
Diving for a Deeper Cause
This event is about more than just festive fun; it’s about making a real difference. All proceeds from the day will be donated to two vital charities: DDRC Plymouth and Headway Gloucestershire.
DDRC Plymouth is a cause incredibly close to our hearts in the diving community. They are a world-renowned charity specialising in diving medicine and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. They provide the critical 24/7 emergency service that treats divers suffering from decompression illness (“the bends”), while also conducting vital research and training to make diving safer for all of us.
We are also incredibly proud to support Headway Gloucestershire, a local charity dedicated to improving life after brain injury. Headway provides essential services, therapeutic activities, and long-term support to survivors of acquired brain injury and their families. They help people navigate the life-changing physical, cognitive, and social challenges they face, offering a path forward and a community of support.
So, what are you waiting for? Dig out your Santa suit, check your gear, and get ready to jingle-all-the-way-underwater. Let’s make this year’s Scuba Santas the biggest and best one yet, and raise a huge amount for two truly deserving charities!
How to join? Just book a dive session as normal via The Lake website and select 13th December.
